Dr. Bunie Mbamalu joined Achievable as an NCLEX content author and clinical educator, contributing to the development of high-yield, clinically grounded learning materials aligned with the Next Generation NCLEX (NGN) framework. His work focuses on preparing nursing candidates to demonstrate safe, effective clinical judgment under the NGN scoring model and computer-adaptive testing environment.
Dr. Mbamalu is a dual-trained healthcare professional with formal education and clinical experience in both medicine and pharmacy. He earned a Master’s degree in Pharmacy from the University of Reading in the United Kingdom and completed his medical training at St. George’s University School of Medicine. Over the past decade, he has worked across multiple healthcare systems, including Nigeria, the United Kingdom, the United States, and the Caribbean, gaining broad exposure to patient care, clinical reasoning, and healthcare education across diverse settings.
His areas of expertise include clinical judgment development, pharmacology, pathophysiology, test-taking strategy, and case-based learning design, with a particular emphasis on NGN item types such as case studies, SATA, and cause-and-effect questions. He has taught and mentored a wide range of learners, including nursing students, medical students, pharmacists, and allied health professionals, and is recognized for translating complex clinical concepts into structured, exam-relevant frameworks. His instructional approach mirrors the NGN model by training learners to recognize cues, analyze data, recognize patterns, and evaluate outcomes rather than rely solely on memorization.
Outside of curriculum development, Dr. Mbamalu is passionate about medical education innovation, global health equity, and the use of structured learning systems to improve examination outcomes.
