Dara A. Emery

Dara received her bachelor’s degree in Theater Arts from Brown University. When she’s not acting, she works as a private tutor and has done so for more than eight years, specializing in college test prep, writing, college admissions, GRE preparation, high school academics, and AP courses. She also taught ESL to adults for five years and served as the academic supervisor for a summer ESL program hosted on CSU Northridge’s campus.

While Dara tutors a wide range of subjects, she specializes in writing, reading comprehension, and grammar, and she loves helping students strengthen their rhetorical skills. Within test prep, she focuses on simplifying the process by teaching students how to use the standardized nature of high school and college–level exams to their advantage.

In her free time, Dara is hard at work on her first novel, which she hopes to publish in 2026. She also enjoys playing fantasy and sci-fi video games, browsing local bookstores, and teaching herself Korean.
