Mt. Sinai Physician & Medical-School Admissions Insider. After completing a B.A. in Applied Mathematics at Washington University in St. Louis, I spent a year teaching high-school chemistry and physics in an under-resourced charter school, where I learned to translate complex ideas into clear, actionable lessons. That skill set traveled with me through medical school at Mount Sinai—where I became a senior executive tutor—into internal-medicine residency, and now into my hematology-oncology fellowship. I later joined the admissions committee, reviewing hundreds of personal statements and conducting interviews that sharpened my sense of effective applicant storytelling. My research on cancer-trial design has been published in JAMA and honored by the American Society of Hematology. My objective is to draw on this blend of teaching, admissions insight, and research rigor to help future physicians present their strongest, most authentic applications.
