Basic FE exam registration requirements in Pennsylvania
Enter your education information in MyNCEES. A separate board application is not required when the information meets Pennsylvania's direct-registration requirements. Under 49 Pa. Code 37.31, the pregraduation route for an approved US undergraduate engineering curriculum requires at least two completed years, continued enrollment, and the required approval. Applicants relying on an approved graduate or foreign engineering curriculum must graduate before taking the FE. Follow the board's preapproval process for other qualifying routes.

After registering and receiving authorization to schedule, sign in to MyNCEES and choose Schedule. Select an available Pearson test center, date and time, complete the booking, and retain the appointment confirmation. Availability varies by test center.

When are FE exam results released?
Exam results are typically available within 7–10 business days. You will receive an email notification from NCEES with instructions to view your exam results in your MyNCEES account. Results will include a link to your licensing board for additional state-specific information or instructions.
FE exam cancellation and refund policy
If an appointment is scheduled, cancel it through Manage Appointment in MyNCEES at least 48 hours before it starts; Pearson charges $50. To request a registration refund, separately cancel the NCEES registration once its status is Unscheduled. NCEES normally deducts $50, but waives that deduction if you paid Pearson an appointment cancellation fee. Complete registration cancellation within the 12-month authorization period to avoid forfeiting the registration fee.
