Pre-licensing education in Florida
Florida requires 200 hours of pre-licensing education approved by the Department of Financial Services for the 2-20 license, finished within the four years before you apply.

How to get your Florida Property & Casualty license
- Complete a Department of Financial Services–approved 200-hour property and casualty pre-licensing course. It must be finished within the four years before you apply.
- Apply for the license through your MyProfile account on the Department of Financial Services website. The application fee is $50, plus a $5 license ID fee.
- Get fingerprinted. The $49.50 fee is paid to the fingerprinting vendor.
- Schedule the General Lines Agent (2-20) exam with Pearson VUE and pass it with a score of 70% or higher.
