Does this course come with a certificate of completion for my state?

Insurance licensing requirements vary state-by-state. Some states do not require applicants to submit a certificate of completion for a pre-licensing course before licensing, while others require pre-licensing education and verification of completion.
The following states do not generally require a certificate of completion: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Delaware, District of Columbia, Hawaii, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, and Wyoming.
Other states have specific pre-licensing requirements, and we are working to ensure we meet them for every state. Please select your state on the purchase page to see if there are any additional requirements. Note that requirements also vary by license type and may change, and that applicants should always verify current requirements with their state's Department of Insurance.

Should I take the Property & Casualty Insurance exam together or separately?

Some states offer you the choice of taking the Property and Casualty Insurance exam together or separately. Many agents choose to specialize in both lines because it allows them to offer a full suite of property and liability protection to their clients. Achievable's courses can handle either use case. In terms of test-taking, let's go over the benefits of each approach:
  • Study and pass one exam that covers both Property and Casualty insurance topics
  • The main benefit: Individuals can enter the insurance industry more quickly
  • Many companies prefer that you pursue the combined exam path first
  • The main drawback: you will need to learn and memorize both topics in the exam at the same time
  • Some learners may find approaching one large exam instead of two shorter ones more difficult
Conversely, taking the Property and Casualty exams separately gives you:
  • More time to study for each insurance exam category, allowing you to be more calculated and systematic
  • A simpler, more manageable way to progress, especially helpful for newcomers to the material
  • A more narrow focus, allowing you to become proficient in one area before transitioning to the other
  • The chance to specialize in one line before adding another to your portfolio
The drawback is that studying and sitting for two separate exams could take more time than pursuing the combined exam, and it may be slightly more expensive to take two tests instead of one in some states.
Alternatively, you can always specialize in one of the two lines (Property or Casualty only), which means you only need to worry about taking a single, line-specific exam. You can always add additional licenses throughout your career.
